Keeping our students safe is our top priority, and a key part of the promise behind the 2028 One-Half Cent Renewal. Priority is given to projects that directly address and improve our schools and keep our students safe. The one-half cent sales tax has funded previously unfunded or underfunded projects that ensure that all students have a safe place to learn, facilities are well lit, secured and maintained, emergency systems are modern, and basic infrastructure like plumbing and electrical are updated, upgraded and efficient. These projects, often costing millions of dollars, are all funded by the Half-Penny Promise and ensure safe, secure schools for our students.
