In 2018, voters overwhelmingly passed the half-cent sales tax to fix what our schools couldn’t afford on their own: A/C, roofs, athletic facilities, playgrounds, media centers, cafeterias and auditoriums.
Since then, the Half-Penny Promise has invested over a billion dollars into our schools, most of it awarded to local companies. Today our schools are safer, more modern places to learn, and our students and teachers are succeeding, earning the district’s first A rating from the Florida Department of Education in over a decade.
